KENNETT, Mo. -- A 27-year-old Caruthersville, Mo., woman was arrested on charges of robbery and third degree assault following an incident at Walmart in Kennett on Thursday.
According to the Kennett Police Department, officers responded to a call from the Walmart Supercenter Thursday morning regarding an incident involving a woman attempting to leave the store without paying for merchandise.
According to authorities, when an attempt was made to detain the woman by one of the store's employees, she assaulted him and left the store with an undetermined amount of property.
Hayti, Mo., police stopped her vehicle after it entered the Hayti city limits and found in her possession $250 worth of property.
The woman is in custody at the Dunklin County Justice Center.
