CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- A Caruthersville man is in custody in connection with a stabbing that left another man in critical condition.
At 4:56 p.m. Saturday, Caruthersville police officers were flagged down on East Seventh Street by Gary Hatley. Hatley, 44, appeared to have a stab wound to his right chest area, according to a news release issued by the Caruthersville Police Department.
Hatley was flown to a hospital in Memphis, Tenn., for treatment. He was listed in critical but stable condition, Caruthersville City Marshal Chris Riggs reported.
Officers subsequently arrested Crozet Wiley, 55, on charges of first-degree felony assault. He was being held in the Pemiscot County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
