ST. LOUIS - Pressure may be mounting on the Obama Administration to require Chrysler to save jobs at its Fenton plant ahead of jobs at Chrysler plants outside the country.

U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan doesn't want a Chrysler plant in Mexico kept open and one in Fenton shut down, while U.S. taxpayers are paying for the auto industry bailout.

Carnahan says he has been meeting with officials from the White House and Treasury Department involved in the Chrysler bailout.

But he declined to say with whom he had met and what was said.

Carnahan said he believes the Fenton plant has a chance at being saved. The plant is scheduled to shut down completely Sept. 30.
