Attorney General Jay Nixon is so far the only Democrat to declare his candidacy for governor.

Campaign spokesman Tony Wyche (WYSH) says Carnahan has received several calls urging her to run for governor. Wyche says she is taking time to think about it.

Republican Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder is so far the only person to enter the governor's race after Blunt's surprise announcement. At least a half dozen other Republicans also are considering it.
