The Community Caring Council will hold its 10th annual Caring Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at Holiday Inn Convention Center.
Keynote speaker will be author, radio and television talent and corporate trainer Mary Kay Mueller. Her theme, "Tools for Transition," will provide participants with tools to help maximize potential, relieve stress and create balance in their daily lives.
"Change is inevitable, but the suffering that often accompanies it is optional," she said.
The conference is targeted to community leaders, educators, church leaders, social workers, counselors and other human-service professionals.
The council also will present the annual Community Partnership awards during the conference. Each year the council recognizes community organizations or agencies that have shown support and spirit as exemplified in the council's goals and ideals.
Past recipients include the Cape Girardeau public schools, Southeast Missouri State University, Community Counseling Center, Division of Family Services, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Missouri Veterans Home, Cape Girardeau Public Health Center and the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Registration fee for the conference is $55 and includes lunch. Organizations who send five people at the regular registration rate may send the sixth person free. Continuing education units are available.
