Current and former members of the St. Louis Cardinals have joined with the team's broadcasters and other St. Louis celebrities to record "A Cardinals' Christmas," an album whose proceeds will go to the Caring Program for Children.
Cassettes and compact discs are available in Cape Girardeau at Cybertel, 500 N. Kingshighway, and Schnucks, 19 S. Kingshighway.
Caring Program is a charitable organization that provides primary and preventive health care services to more than 4,000 children in Missouri and Illinois.
The recording features traditional carols, poignant stories and personal recollections of Christmas memories.
Among those performing are players Ozzie Smith and Bob Tewksbury, manager Joe Torre and his wife Ali, broadcasters Jack Buck, Mike Shannon and Joe Buck, former players Stan Musial and Red Schoendienst and St. Louis Symphony conductor Leonard Slatkin.
The price for a cassette is $5.99 and the price for a compact disc is $10.99.
