Car overturns, sends Cape Girardeau woman to hospital

DEXTER, Mo. - A Cape Girardeau woman sustained moderate injuries after the car she was riding in overturned on U.S. 60 Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred around 10:38 a.m. when Robert F. Kunkel, 88, of Cape Girardeau drove a 2010 Chrysler into the median and overturned. A passenger in the vehicle, Alberta L. Kunkel, 86, of Cape Girardeau, was treated at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Robert and Alberta Kunkel were both wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, the highway patrol said.
