Car crashes into Cape Girardeau business

A car crashed into a Broadway business Friday in Cape Girardeau.

Police and firefighters responded about 5:15 p.m. to Photography by Carrie, 2117 Broadway, where a dark green Chevrolet Lumina crashed into the corner of the building. One person was taken to a hospital to check for injuries, according to police at the scene. Police said no information would be released until a report on the accident was completed.

Police tape blocked off part of the building while firefighters inspected its integrity.

The car didn't appear to have penetrated the wall of the business, but did take out at least one pillar supporting a porch in the front of the building.
