The Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau has been selected recipient of the Missouri Easter Seal Society's award for outstanding service.
The Cape Girardeau Zonta Club was recognized for its longstanding financial and volunteer support of the Easter Seal Society's Early Learning Center in Cape Girardeau.
According to Patricia Jones, president and CEO of the Missouri Easter Seal Society, "The club's efforts enabled us to enhance our services to the children attending the Early Learning Center."
The award was presented at the annual Awards Dinner at the Adam's Mark Hotel in St. Louis. Last year's Service Committee Director Janice Hill accepted the award on behalf of the club.
Jones congratulated the club and extended "a sincere thank you for the ongoing support of the Easter Seal Society and the children with disabilities we serve."
The Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau was founded in 1976 and now has more than 80 professional women from throughout Cape Girardeau, Scott and Perry counties. As a worldwide service organization, the club is founded on the principles of service to the community, the country and the world .
