A Cape Girardeau woman is facing charges after being stopped while driving a stolen vehicle.
Melissa Flentge, 43, has been charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, a felony.
On Monday, a deputy stopped a blue BMW M4 traveling below the speed limit on Linn Street in Sikeston, Missouri, according to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
The deputy had the license plate number run to check the registration, and communications told the deputy the car had been reported stolen Sunday in Scott City.
The deputy stopped the vehicle and identified Flentge as the driver, the release said. She was arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail, where she remains in custody, the release said. Her bond has been set at $5,000 cash or surety.
