Cape trash scheduled altered for holidays

Because of the upcoming holidays, Monday and Tuesday trash and recycling service in Cape Girardeau will be a day late through Jan. 4. The Public Works Department will be on its holiday schedule Monday and Tuesday and Jan. 2 and 3. Monday's trash and recycling routes will run Tuesday and Tuesday's routes will run Wednesday. Thursday and Friday routes will run on their normal days. No special pickups will be scheduled for Dec. 28 or Jan. 4. Customers with extra holiday waste will have the option of putting up to four or more regular garbage bags at the curb on their regular trash pickup day between Dec. 27 and Jan. 6.
