A Cape Girardeau teenager was arguing with his girlfriend's father, and that allegedly escalated into gunplay.

Darion T. Harris, 19, was arrested Thursday and charged with felony first-degree assault and felony armed criminal action.

Harris' bond was set at $100,000 cash only.

On Dec. 5, Harris was at his girlfriend's residence in North Henderson Avenue when he started arguing with her father, the father told Cape Girardeau Police Cpl. Bradley L. Neels, according to Neels' probable-cause statement.

At one point, Harris left from the back of residence, and the father stuck his head out of the back door. Harris then turned around, pointed a firearm at him and fired one shot in his direction, Neels stated.

"(The victim) stated that it did not appear that Harris was aiming the gun but just firing at him," Neels wrote.

Harris was identified as a person of interest by Cape Girardeau police in the killing of Quinton Combs on Nov. 15. A police spokesmen said officers found Harris Nov. 16 and conducted an interview.
