Cape Girardeau teacher Doris Ford has been elected second vice president of the statewide Missouri State Teachers Association.

Bill Lewis, an assistant high school principal from Neosho, is the new MSTA president. Veronica Hambacker, a junior high language arts teacher from Salem, was elected first vice president.
Ford has served on the Southeast District Executive Committee for five years and completed a term as district president in March 1991.
Chosen 1987 Outstanding MSTA Leader of the Year, Ford has been a members of MSTA for 25 years.
