Lance E. Haman of Cape Girardeau has been awarded a University of Missouri Curators Scholars Award.
The scholarships are offered by the four campuses of the University of Missouri system to encourage academically superior high school students to attend the University of Missouri campus of their choice.
Scholarship recipients must score at or above the 90th percentile on a standardized college entrance test and rank in the top three or top three percent of their graduating class.
Students are nominated by their high school principal or counselor and may attend any one of the four UM system campuses -- Columbia, Rolla, Kansas City and St. Louis.
After graduating from Cape Girardeau Central High School this spring, Haman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Haman, plans to study electrical engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla.
