Visitors may tour the building until 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served and members of the Cape Senior Center will be available to answer questions.

During the presidency of the late Jack Slaughter in 1990 the members began a building fund drive. The center was operating in its fourth rented place at 232 Broadway at the time.

The drive included in-house activities, contributions from individuals, businesses and organizations, some under the Neighborhood Assistance Program.

Work began in fall 1992 and the center moved into the new building July 1. E.R. Thompson Construction Co. was the contractor.
