The Cape Girardeau Senior Center works to promote the wellbeing of people 60 and older through meals and companionship.
The agency's primary service is providing congregation and home-delivered meals.
But the center also serves as a social hub for participants.
"It's not a real structured program," said director Jo Nell Lingo. "We offer a place for them to play cards or bingo, to quilt, anything to get them out of their homes."
The center offers supportive services like an exercise class and free health and welfare screenings.
In the coming year, the agency hopes to enlarge its health awareness programs and offer some different types of recreation. The home-delivered meal program is also planned for expansion.
Director of the agency is Jo Nell Lingo. For more information call 335-1352.
