The Cape Girardeau School District is seeking input from parents with an online survey that was posted Monday on the district's website.
In October the district formed a staff committee to review the district's current dress code policies, research dress codes and collect input from other staff, parents and the community.
Letters notifying parents of the survey were also mailed Monday.
Administrators say problems with current dress code policies include a lack of consistency between buildings and difficulties with enforcement.
District superintendent Dr. Jim Welker said when the committee finishes studying the dress code policies, it will likely make a recommendation to administrators on what changes are needed. The recommendation would then be made to the school board. According to the district, changes that could be made to dress code policies would not happen until the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
The survey consists of 10 questions and a comment section. It will be available online at www.capetigers.com through Dec. 2.
