CAPE SALESMAN WINS TRUCK IN NATIONAL CONTEST

A year ago Mike Dean, a sales representative with Cape Toyota-Suzuki, 835 S. Kingshighway, finished in the runner-up position in the 1991 Toyota National Walk Around competition. He received $5,000 for his second-place finish.

This year he moved up a notch.

Dean, who was recently promoted to customer relations manager at Cape Toyota-Suzuki, captured the No. 1 position in the national competition held recently in San Diego, Calif.

The grand prize was a $20,000 Toyota pickup truck.

Dean had to win three preliminary contests dealership, district and regional to reach the nationals.

More than 1,200 dealerships entered the first level of competition.

Dean is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in business management. He and is wife, Lisa, reside in Cape Girardeau.
