A Cape Girardeau man pleaded innocent Monday to the charge he sold crack cocaine to an undercover officer in 2003. Evan D. Johnson, 22, of 419 S. Sprigg St., entered his not guilty plea to felony drug trafficking during an appearance before Circuit Court Judge Benjamin Lewis. The defendant is accused of selling 7 grams of crack cocaine to an undercover Bootheel Drug Task Force officer for $500, according to a probable cause statement. The alleged sale occurred at the intersection of Bloomfield and Pacific streets on Oct. 30, 2003. Bond was set at $50,000.
