Fifth and sixth grade students in Cape Girardeau's Explore program recently placed second in Missouri in two academic competitions.
The fifth grade Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl team placed second in the state out of 42 teams. This is the third year in a row the team has captured second place honors.
The sixth grade Knowledge Master Open team placed second in Missouri and 44th in the world. Knowledge master is a worldwide computer contest.
Members of the Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl team are Warren Williams, Tommy Dohogne, Edward Roeger, Erin Ross, Sara Little, David Raymond, Lindsey Francis, Katie Rose, Liz Hermann, Beth Bishop, Jordan Bingham, Laura Crump, David Wyatt, Margaret Clark, Lillian Dean, Adam Kerr, Matt Domorech and Julie Roth.
Members of the Knowledge Master team are Mitch Ogles, Jonathan Anderson, Julie McGowen, Brandon Ruth, Franklin McGinty, Scott Boyd, Amanda Stoecker, Leanne Lee, Casey Ferden, Kirk Miller, Rachel Stanley and Becky Thomas.
