Erik Muser of Cape Girardeau, a fourth-year student at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, was recently elected to a one-year term as national vice speaker of Phi Lambda Sigma, a national pharmacy leadership society, just three months after being inducted into the group.
The position is one of only two student elected positions nationally.
Phi Lambda Sigma inductees must demonstrate leadership, activity in professional organizations, and a strong academic background. There are more than 50 chapters nationwide; Muser is president of the St. Louis chapter.
As vice speaker, Muser will speak at regional meetings of the American Pharmaceutical Association. Those meetings will take place in New Mexico, Ohio and Arizona throughout the next year.
"Being elected to this office has been especially rewarding because I was chosen by my peers to serve," Muser said. "I'm looking forward to my year serving Phi Lambda Sigma."
