Cape police to hold program for residents
The Cape Girardeau Police Department will be running a Citizen's Police Academy from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evenings starting Feb. 21 in the training room at police headquarters, if there is enough public interest in the program, according to a news release. The training will be seven weeks long and is designed to familiarize residents with the daily activities and services of the police department. A primary goal of the academy is to enhance the spirit of cooperation between the police department and the community, the release said. Anyone interested in the Citizen's Police Academy should contact Sgt. Barry Hovis at 335-6621, extension 1094.
