Cape police seek two in KFC robbery

A day after the Cape Girardeau incident, a KFC in Sikeston, Mo., was robbed.

Cape Girardeau police are looking for two male suspects following the robbery of the KFC restaurant at 2101 William St.

According to police reports, two black males entered the restaurant at around 9:30 p.m. Thursday and took an undisclosed amount of money at gunpoint.

Another KFC, this time in Sikeston, Mo., was robbed Friday afternoon. Details were unavailable from Sikeston police.

According to witness descriptions in the Cape Girardeau robbery, a black male in his mid-20s and 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, and a black male in his teens 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall entered the restaurant through a rear door and ordered the assistant manager and two employees on the floor.

The first suspect was wearing all black, including black gloves and a mask. The second was wearing a royal blue jacket with white socks on his hands and carrying a black diaper bag.

The older suspect did the talking, ordering the employees to get on the floor or he would kill them, said police spokesman Jason Selzer. Witnesses say the suspect was carrying a rusty black handgun.

The suspect ordered the assistant manager to open the cash drawer and took an undisclosed amount of money while the second suspect stood silent at the back door, witnesses said.

The two fled out the back door following the robbery. Police dogs tracked them to a short distance away from the restaurant, where it's believed the suspects used a getaway car. A witness in the parking lot reported seeing nothing unusual outside the restaurant.
