Cape Girardeau Police Department is looking for a woman who disappeared from Maple Crest Manor on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by police Sunday just before 1 p.m., safety concerns for the woman, Laurie J. Rose, 47, arise from the fact that she is recovering from a brain injury.

"Ms. Rose may exhibit signs of confusion and also uses a walker to help steady her while moving around," the statement said.

Police describe her as "a white female, with dark hair, weighing approximately 130 pounds."

She is described as being 4-foot-11 tall and wearing light-colored heavy, hooded coat.

Rose was last seen around 1 p.m. at the assisted living facility, the report said. Shortly after that, a concerned caller to the police station described a woman fitting her description as being at Broadway and Kingshighway, asking for a ride to I-55.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 335-6621.
