Cape Girardeau police are looking for the driver of a dump truck that struck a car at a convenience store earlier this month.

About 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, a dump truck struck a car twice at the Bi-State Oil convenience store at 612 S. Sprigg St., Sgt. Jason Selzer reported Sunday.

In an email message, Selzer said a motion-activated video camera at the store captured the dump truck hitting the car, apparently intentionally.

He said the driver appeared to be upset because the car was parked directly in front of his vehicle.

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man they would like to interview in connection with the case, Selzer said.

He said the case is being investigated as a property damage report rather than an accident because police believe the dump truck driver intentionally drove into the other vehicle.

Pertinent address:

612 S. Sprigg St., Cape Girardeau, Mo.
