A drug bust started at Capaha Park and ended in a garage Wednesday.
Theon D. Mackins, 21, of Cape Girardeau was charged with felony counts of trafficking and attempt to distribute a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, resisting arrest by flight and a misdemeanor count of driving with a revoked license. He is being held on a $25,000 bond.
According to the police probable-cause statement, Mackins was going to deliver an ounce of marijuana to a confidential informant at Capaha Park. When he and the informant parked their vehicles beside each other, Mackins changed the location to the Hardee's lot at Broadway and West End Boulevard.
When officers pulled in front of Mackins' vehicle, he backed up and drove through the grass to get away. He drove to the rear of his residence at 451 Rose St., raised the garage door and drove in. He refused to get out of the vehicle, so officers broke the driver-side window and took him into custody.
Officers found in the vehicle some marijuana and cocaine.
