Cape Girardeau police are investigating a pair of shootings that occurred overnight.
Details were limited, but public information officer Darin Hickey said police responded to reports late Wednesday or early this morning of shots fired in the area of Whitener Street.
Officers found a woman with a gunshot wound to the buttocks, he said.
Police still were at the scene investigating at 1:30 a.m. today, Hickey said.
Earlier in the evening, a male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, Hickey said.
He did not have details on the earlier shooting, but he said both were under investigation.
It was not immediately known whether the two cases were related.
Hickey asked anyone with information about either shooting to call the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 335-6621.
