Cape Girardeau police say a shooting early Wednesday morning at the 500 block of South Ellis left a teenage driver with injuries to a forearm and leg. The driver and an adult male passenger had arrived on the block at about 1:30 a.m., said police spokesman Cpl. Ike Hammonds. The passenger got out of the car to talk to a man standing in a yard. An argument ensued and the passenger returned to the car. Two shots rang out as the car pulled away. The injured man drove to Southeast Missouri Hospital, Hammonds said. He has since been treated and released. No charges have been filed and police do not have any suspects in custody, Hammonds said.
