Cape Girardeau police in regular uniforms and tactical gear executed a search warrant about 5:30 p.m. Friday at a rental property in the 2000 block of Broadway.
Cape Girardeau Police Lt. John Davis said officers were looking for property in the house.
A Cape Girardeau K-9 unit, as well as a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent and police chief Wes Blair, were on the scene because of a potential for weapons in the house.
Traffic was blocked in the right westbound lane of Broadway for more than 30 minutes.
Davis was unsure whether the search was related to a report of shots fired near the house earlier in the day.
Pertinent address:
2000 block of Broadway, Cape Girardeau, Mo.
