The Cape Girardeau School District will enroll and screen children for kindergarten next year from March 10 to 13 at 301 N. Clark Ave. An appointment is necessary and can be scheduled by calling the Parents as Teachers office at 651-3703. Parents should bring the child's inoculation record, birth certificate, Social Security card and proof of address. The appointment will last about an hour and a half, and the child must be present. To be eligible, children must turn 5 on or before July 31. Appointments can be made from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. March 10 and 12 and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 11 and 13.
The Oak Ridge School District will enroll and screen children for kindergarten next year on March 18 at First Baptist Church, 4154 Route E. An appointment is necessary and can be scheduled by calling the elementary school at 573-266-3232 after Feb. 19. Parents should bring the child's inoculation record, birth certificate, Social Security card and proof of address. The child must be present. To be eligible, children must turn 5 before Aug 1. A screening with be held for 3- and 4-year-olds as well.
