Cape Girardeau has named a new assistant city manager and director of development services.
Molly B. Hood, a senior planner in Paradise Valley, Ariz., has accepted the position after a recruiting process by the city that lasted about six months. Hood also has private sector government relations and consulting experience and has worked as a planner in Glendale, Ariz., and Carbondale, Ill., according to a news release from the city. She has a master's degree in public administration from Arizona State University.
The position was last held by former assistant city manager Kelly Green, who moved out of state.
The city's development services department includes engineering, inspections and planning.
A new assistant city manager and director of administrative services has not yet been named. That position was last held by Heather Brooks, who also moved out of state over the summer.
