Two 31-year-old Cape Girardeau residents were shot late Tuesday near apartment complexes on North Pind Wood Lane, police said.
A male victim was shot twice in the right leg, and a female victim was shot once in the back upper portion of one of her legs, according to Cape Girardeau police Sgt. Adam Glueck.
Police went about 10:15 p.m. to an area near 36 N. Pind Wood Lane, where they found both shooting victims. They were taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Both victims gave descriptions of their attackers — two men in their late teens — but said they did not know them, Glueck said.
It appeared to investigators the male victim became involved in some sort of altercation before shooting began, Glueck said.
Other details about the shooting are being investigated, including how many other people were around, how many shots were fired and how many guns were involved.
