Cape Girardeau police are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday night.
Police responded to a shots-fired call at 9:46 p.m. at Bloomfield Road and Benton Street When officers arrived, there was no one at the scene.
About 20 minutes later, officers were contacted by Southeast Hospital about a 38-year-old Cape Girardeau man who had been shot in both legs, Lt. Barry Hovis said.
Officers interviewed the victim at the hospital, but he did not say much about the incident.
Police are pursuing leads, but there was no new information on the case Monday, public information officer Adam Glueck said.
