Cape man seriously injured in motorcycle crash

A 25-year-old Cape Girardeau man was airlifted to Saint Francis Medical Center on Saturday after he drove his BMW motorcycle off a Scott County roadway and into a ditch.

Cody D. McClard was being treated for serious injuries after his accident on Route N, about four miles south of Scott City, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The wreck took place about 2 p.m., the patrol said, and McClard was wearing his helmet. McClard was transported by air evac to the hospital, the patrol said, although no updates on his condition were available Sunday. McClard was driving northbound when the accident took place.
