Cape man injured in car accident

A 21-year-old Cape Girardeau man was injured in a single-car accident Tuesday afternoon on County Road 607, three miles east of Fruitland, police said.

Jordi R. Morris was taken by ambulance to Southeast Missouri Hospital after the 2000 Dodge vehicle he was driving overturned, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Morris was southbound on County Road 607 when his vehicle an off the roadway and struck a tree, returning to the roadway before overturning, the report said.

Morris sustained moderate injuries and the vehicle sustained extensive damage, the report said. Morris was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the report.
