Police are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting that injured a Cape Girardeau man.
The man, whose name is not being released, was shot once in the leg near the intersection of Broadway and Sprigg Street and was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Adam Glueck of the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Police received a call about the shooting at 1:09 a.m., Glueck said.
Police did not have a description of a suspect, who remained at large Sunday afternoon, he said.
Details were sketchy, but Glueck said the shooting was not from a vehicle. He said the investigation was ongoing, and officers hoped to develop a description of the suspect and release more information.
Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 335-6621 or the Crime Stoppers hotline at 339-6312.
