CHARLESTON, Mo. -- A Cape Girardeau man will spend the next 30 years in prison as punishment for aiding in the Keller Truck Stop robbery in Miner.

Darrin Meuir, 24, was sentenced following a jury trial held in the Mississippi County Circuit Court before Circuit Judge David A. Dolan.

The jury convicted Meuir of acting in association with Christopher Shipman in commission of the robbery.

"This defendant was every bit as dangerous as the actual robber," said Mississippi County Assistant Prosecutor Gregory Spencer, who tried the case on behalf of Scott County.

Meuir was found guilty Tuesday of the class A felony of first degree robbery, which brought a 20-year sentence, and the unclassified felony of armed criminal action, for which he was sentenced an additional 10 years.

Shipman previously pled guilty to first degree robbery and was sentenced to serve 10 years.
