Cape man faces prison, fine for drug dealing

A Cape Girardeau man pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to repeatedly selling crack cocaine to a police informant. Marshall Egson, 27 faces up to 40 years in prison and a fine of up to $2 million. Sentencing has been set for Nov. 28 in Cape Girardeau. Egson admitted with his plea that on four occasions between Dec. 20, 2004 and Feb. 14, 2005, he sold at least five grams of crack cocaine to a police informant. The informant paid between $230 and $250 each time, she said. All four purchases were made at an apartment on Cape Meadows Circle.
