The National Multiple Sclerosis Society Gateway Area Chapter will honor leaders at its upcoming annual Night of 1,000 Stars at Sheraton Westport Chalet hotel in St. Louis.

Walt Wildman of Cape Gir-ardeau was selected as Unsung Hero of the Year. He was recognized by the chapter for his dependability, inspiration and efficiency.

"I am gratefully honored and hope to continue to support the chapter and those living with MS," Wildman said.

Winners were chosen from hundreds of entries and categories included Mother of the Year, Father of the Year, Caregiver of the Year, Individual of the Year, Unsung Hero of the Year and Employer of the Year.

The National MS Society exists to keep MS sufferers moving. Its objective is to address the challenges of living with MS.
