Christopher Chance Brooks reportedly confessed to police about stealing several electronic items Dec. 15 from his girlfriend's house.

Brooks, 20, of Cape Girardeau said he was given a key to the house by his girlfriend. He entered a back bedroom at a house in the 1800 block of Westwood Drive and took a Samsung tablet and an Xbox 360, Cape Girardeau police officer Cody Farrow wrote in a probable-cause statement.

Brooks pawned the game system but gave back the tablet, Farrow wrote. One of the home's residents also reported a heart-shaped diamond pendant was missing, but Brooks did not admit to taking jewelry, Farrow wrote.

Brooks said he noticed two Apple watches he considered stealing but thought that would have been too obvious, Farrow wrote.

Brooks is charged with second-degree felony burglary and felony theft.
