CAPE LIBRARY PLANS DECEMBER EVENTS

The Cape Girardeau Public Library will present at program entitled "Happy Hanukkah" from 7 to 8 p.m. Dec. 10.

Also in December, the library is collecting canned foods to repay overdue fines. Food donations will be valued at 50 cents per can and can be used toward replacement of lost materials or any other library fee. Donated items will be given to FISH, which distributes food to local families.

On Dec. 10, the entire family may learn more about the traditional holiday of Hanukkah, which begins Dec. 13 and lasts eight days.

Those attending will learn the history of the celebration and have a chance to make a traditional Hanukkah craft to take home.
