Cape Girardeau Public Library has several events planned for this month, including:
* Great Books 2006 meets for discussion from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 16 for "Red House" by Sarah Messer; Nov. 30 for "Gilead" by Marilynne Robinson and at 7 p.m. Nov. 28 for "The Secret Life of Bees," by Sue Monk Kidd in the Hirsch Community Room of the Cape Girardeau Public Library. Co-sponsored by the library and the Center for Regional History. Call the library at 334-5279 or the Center for Regional History at 651-2555 for more information.
* Library closed Nov. 11, Veterans Day, and Nov. 23, Thanksgiving Day.
* From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 18, painting creative designs on river rocks will be offered at the library. Registration is required but there is no charge. Call 334-5279 to register, or visit www.capelibrary.org. Deadline for registration is Nov. 13. Bring a sack lunch.
