The Cape LaCroix Nursing Center, 2525 Boutin Dr., honored two of its fathers Friday during its annual Father's Day picnic.
John Powers, a former native and farmer of Cape Girardeau, was honored with a Fathers Day certificate for having six children. He is 85 years old and enjoys writing poetry.
Ray Pender, also a former Cape native and farmer, received a certificate, as father of six children. He is 81 years old.
The day's activities included music by local volunteers, a barbecue, awards ceremony, and recognition of all fathers at the facility.
