The Cape Girardeau Jaycees won a number of awards, including a top-10 finish for overall chapter projects, at the summer state convention held recently.
The chapter placed 10th in the competition, called Parade of Chapters, based on a point system which judges every chapter project.
Matt Hopkins, Region 8 (Southeast Missouri) Director, rank first in the state, based on new chapters formed, membership growth and projects held in the region. He is also ranked in the top five in the nation.
Julia Cowsert, Cape Wonderland Program Manager for the Cape Girardeau Jaycees, earned an award in the write-up competition.
Also attending the convention were Cape Girardeau Jaycees President LaRae Moore; Tara Caldwell, district director; and Linda Job, director.
