Scout Hall welcomed back Midwestern indie-rock band Post Sex Nachos on Friday night, June 14.
The Columbia-based band first came to Cape last August and returned as part of the group's Prima/Vera tour.
The performance created a stir downtown, with Ground-A-Bout going as far as creating a coffee blend inspired by the band (fitting, as the band has a song titled “Coffee”).
About 135 people attended the concert, which also included a performance by Tedious & Brief, according to Scout Hall organizers.
Composed of guitarist Mitch Broddon, lead vocalist/guitarist Sammy Elfy, keyboardist Kevin Jerez, bassist Chase Mueller and drummer Hunter Pendleton, Post Sex Nachos punctuates performances with relatable stage dynamics. Whether it was the band members joking with one another on stage or the lead vocalist hopping off the stage to thread his way through the crowd while singing, Post Sex Nachos’ passion is performing for a crowd. The keyboardist played two keyboards at once, fingers flying over the keys, while the lead singer taught the crowd segments of the songs to sing along with the ban. The audience’s energy levels never dropped — singing and dancing along while cheering on the band throughout the performance.
At the end of their planned set, the band was met with roaring applause and a demand for an encore. The band obliged with a lively cover of Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time”.
Before Post Sex Nachos took the stage, a high energy level was created by the riveting performance of the opening band. Tedious & Brief — an alternative band based in Nashville — understood the power of stage presence.
