Cape Girardeau woman sustains serious injuries in Sunday evening accident
SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. - A Cape Girardeau woman was seriously injured in a single-car accident on County Road 352 Sunday evening. The accident occurred near Highway 77 at around 11:48 p.m. as a 1998 Pontiac driven by Marissa D. The accident occurred near Highway 77 at around 11:48 p.m. as a 1998 Pontiac driven by Marissa D. Williamson, 17, was traveling too fast to negotiate a curve and ran into a ditch, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports website. The Pontiac sustained extensive damage.
Williamson was taken by ambulance to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, where she was treated for serious injuries.
