Cape Girardeau Police Department officers arrested Carly Wyatt, 28, of Cape Girardeau for alleged sexual assault involving a juvenile.
Investigators met with the juvenile Monday, Aug. 12. The juvenile disclosed involvement in a sexual assault at Wyatt’s residence in Cape Girardeau. The juvenile reported multiple incidents since July 4, during which Wyatt allegedly provided alcohol despite knowing the juvenile was underage.
Officers arrested Wyatt on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 15, in Cape Girardeau.
Wyatt has been formally charged with four counts of second-degree felony statutory sodomy. She is currently being held in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond.
Wyatt was an employee of the Cape Girardeau public school district.
“A certified staff member has been placed on administrative leave after an arrest for an alleged incident that happened off campus and does not involve the school. We have no other details to share at this time as this is an ongoing police investigation," says a statement from the district.
