__What makes you the best candidate for this position?:__

My 15 years of experience in business development and management has rewarded me to work with a wide variety of people. This coupled with my degree in Business Administration has given me the skills necessary to listen to my client's needs, work together to find a solution, and follow through with implementation. I believe this has prepared me to be able to serve the citizens in Ward 3 in a very similar manner.

__What are the biggest issues facing Ward 3 and how would you address them if elected?:__

Public safety is a concern; I look forward to working with our fire and police departments to ensure this is a top priority. Also, making sure our streets and sidewalks are being maintained efficiently for vehicle and pedestrian safety. In addition I want to work closely with our Chamber of Commerce and our Area Magnet to promote economic growth in our city. Finally there are certain needs within specific neighborhoods that deserve attention as well.

__How do you propose the city remain fiscally responsible?:__

We need to always be examining the city budget to safeguard ourselves against frivolous and wasteful spending. I believe in taking extreme care with taxpayer monies to ensure its being spent appropriately and conservatively by doing due diligence with each item that would come before me. In order for a business to be profitable it must keep costs at a minimum, I would carry this same philosophy to the city council.

__The fire sales tax is up for renewal in November. Do you support the measure? Why or why not?:__

Yes I support the renewal of the fire sales tax. I support it because with an overgrowing population and expanding geographical area given that firefighters are expected to respond to most or all emergency calls, it is imperative they have the proper staffing, training, equipment, etc. in order to protect us, the citizens of Cape Girardeau.
