Cape Girardeau police and the FBI are searching for a suspect in the Thursday morning robbery of the Bank of Missouri, 1622 N. Kingshighway.
Patrolman Darin Hickey, spokesman for the Cape Girardeau Police Department, said officers responded to an alarm at the bank at about 10:20 a.m. Upon arriving, they found that a robber had entered the bank and demanded money. While no weapon was displayed, the robber left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
According to information provided by the FBI, the robber is a white male about six feet tall, and could be from 40 to 50 years old. He was wearing a camouflaged baseball cap, a blue Nike jacket on top of a gray hoodie, dark pants and white tennis shoes.
Kristen Klaus, senior marketing director at the Bank of Missouri, said all deposits at the bank were safe and the bank would be open for business Friday at its regular time. She directed customers Thursday to three other Bank of Missouri locations so authorities could continue their investigation..
