Cape Girardeau police looking for armed robbery suspect

Police are looking for a man who apparently robbed the AM PM gas station on William Street just after 8 a.m. Monday. An employee who was in the store at 1101 William St. when the incident happened said a man wearing a hooded sweat shirt with a brown coat and a black ski mask displayed a handgun and demanded money, Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Cpl. Adam Glueck said. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot. Glueck said the suspect initially fled the store going west but may have turned south soon after leaving the store. No one was injured in the incident.
